Amazon Web Services (AWS) and CEU San Pablo University have signed an agreement to create the ‘AWS Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance’ Classroom, a space of collaboration and innovation that helps to spread the work of ‘Alliance Tech’ . This national alliance of businesses, educational institutions and public administrations was created to address the digital knowledge deficit and promotes the acquisition of cloud computing skills in education. The signing of this agreement was promoted by Antonio Vargas, director of Institutional Relations of AWS for Iberia, the rector of CEU USP, Rosa Visiedo; and the manager of the university , Carmen García de Elías.
Participation in the AWS ‘Tech Alliance’ will allow faculty and students access to approved training materials, labs and other learning resources to develop the latest skills in cloud computing. The alliance also aims to help students to prepare their AWS certification exams , and help to qualify them for their internships or work in national or international companies; as well as to give them access to activities to improve their basic knowledge (AWS Jam, AWS Deep Racer or Hackathons) and promote their employability.
This new space is part of the Aulas CEU – Empresa project, where students receive complementary training while taking their first steps in the labour market. In this way, ‘AWS Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance’ Classroom joins the more than 30 CEU-Company Classrooms inaugurated in the five faculties and in the Polytechnic School of the CEU USP with the help of IBM, NTT Data, KPMG, EY, Adecco, You First, ¡Hola!, LÒreal, Merck, 24 Genetics, Multiópticas, Ashurst, Diusframi y Porcelanosa, among others.
