The General Pharmaceutical Council (CGCOF) and Universidad CEU San
Pablo have signed a collaboration agreement for the development of actions,
projects, programmes, and academic, cultural, research, and training
activities. The agreement, signed by the President of the General Council, Jesús Aguilar, and the Rector of the
University, Rosa Visiedo, also
includes the promotion of matters of common interest for both institutions.
According to the President of the
General Council, this agreement reinforces a collaboration that "goes back over 20 years and has contributed
significantly to Pharmacy through various training and information initiatives
that confirm that the collaboration between the University and the Collegial
Organisation always benefits students, professionals, and ultimately, society."
Additionally, Aguilar expressed his
gratitude to the rector for the University's provision of its facilities and
laboratory equipment to the General Council for the recording of audiovisual
pieces that will be part of the 'National Programme of Continuing Education in
Magistral Formulation' of the CGCOF.
On her part, Rosa Visiedo stated
that this agreement is in line with CEU's strategy to promote and enhance the
theoretical and hands-on learning of future pharmacists. She explained, "We are confident that we can achieve this
goal thanks to our alliance with the General Pharmaceutical Council, which will
allow students to receive complementary training in projects such as the
'National Programme of Continuing Education in Magistral Formulation,' focused
on personalised patient treatment,".
National Programme of Continuing Education in
Magistral Formulation
The CGCOF and CEU USP have signed
a specific agreement by which the university provides its facilities and
laboratory equipment for the recording of audiovisual pieces that are part of
the three courses forming the first phase of the programme.
The Collegial Organisation has
always supported the continuous training of pharmaceutical professionals
through its National Continuing Education Plan, particularly with the
‘Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy Update Programme’.
Following this format and after
the success of a pilot course on 'Liquid Forms of Oral Administration,' the
'National Programme of Continuing Education in Magistral Formulation' has been
launched.
This programme consists of 12
online courses on various aspects related to the preparation of individualised
medications. Three courses will be offered annually for the planned duration of
four years.
The topics of this first edition focus
on semi-solid forms of topical administration: gels and cream-gels, ointments
and semi-solid fatty emulsions, and aqueous emulsions and pastes. Registration
for the first course is open until February 9th, and it will take place from
February 12th to March 18th.
