The Royal Academy of Gastronomy (RAG) and the Universidad CEU San Pablo (CEU USP) have signed a joint collaboration agreement for the development of initiatives in the scientific, academic and cultural fields related to gastronomy. The rector of the University, Rosa Visiedo, and the president of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy, Luis Suárez de Lezo, were responsible for endorsing this alliance, which is committed to the dissemination of gastronomic culture in an educational environment through different lines of action.
Among the planned actions, the II International Gastronomy Conference (‘Spain Gastronomy Conference’) organised by the RAG with the collaboration of the CEU USP, through its CEU Institute of Food and Society, will be held in Madrid from 21 to 23 November 2024. The meeting, aimed at researchers and academic specialists from all over Europe, will have a markedly multidisciplinary character, as reflected in the chosen motto: ‘Reframing the Gastronomy’.
Among the joint projects to be developed under this agreement is also the creation of a guide with advice on food, nutrition and gastronomy for CEU USP students. Different courses, conferences and workshops will also be organised in order to provide knowledge on gastronomy, science and nutrition not only to university students but also to schoolchildren enrolled in the different CEU Group schools throughout Spain, thus ensuring the transversality of gastronomy in the educational sphere.

About the Royal Academy of Gastronomy
The Royal Academy of Gastronomy is a Public Law Corporation whose main objective is to disseminate and protect Spanish gastronomic culture through research and promotion of culinary art and related activities. It is the reference interlocutor with the General State Administration and the meeting point for all stakeholders in the gastronomic sector. Gastronomy is understood as a link and coexistence that has enormous transformative power in all the sectors it relates to, a value chain that begins with the product and ends with waste management. And it works to ensure that gastronomy is consolidated as a pillar of our culture and a cornerstone for our identity as a country.
