CEU San Pablo University has kicked off the new academic year with a festive welcome event for the nearly 2.300 national and international students who have enrolled with us. The university's rector, Rosa Visiedo, remarked that students are embarking on an exciting journey, a period of intellectual growth that will prepare them "for whatever comes their way." She welcomed them to a university that will demand effort but will also accompany them on their journey. Going to class is also about experiencing university life, offered by a wide range of cultural, pastoral, sports, career-oriented, volunteering, and leisure activities which will complement your academic curriculum. It’s a university with an international vocation, has a close relationship with the business world, and has a commitment to serving society in order to build a better world for all of us.
The 'Welcome Day', held at the Monteprincipe Campus, has allowed new students to meet the deans, their teams, and their future professors in specific sessions according to their chosen studies. In the outdoor area of the campus, more than a dozen information stands were set up representing different services and activities offered by the university: Campus Life, Clubs, University Wellbeing Service (SOU), Grow Path for Students (GPS), Volunteering, Pastoral, Sports, Alumni, Career Centre, CEFAS, Digital Ambassadors, Título Propio Futuro, Instituto de la Familia, and ACdP Jóvenes.
This welcome event is part of the 'Welcome Week”, held between September 4 and 8, during which students will receive all the necessary information, academic resources, extracurricular programmes, and personal growth opportunities, as well as guided tours and leisure activities in Madrid. Additionally, during this week, they will have the opportunity to get to know their classmates, mentors (Buddy Senior), and professors, as well as participate in various activities that will immerse them in an environment of learning and discovery.
Internationally recognised prestige
With 90 years of experience in higher education, CEU San Pablo University firmly embraces innovation, research, internationalisation, and digitalisation as tools to adapt to new realities and social demands.
As a result of its international vocación, striving to prepare its students for success in a competitive and globalised world, it has an increasingly diverse student body. Students from over 50 countries, both exchange students and those who have already completed their studies at the university, make up 22% of undergraduates, and 16% of postgraduates.
In this regard, CEU USP has received the support and recognition of significant international rankings such as QS Stars Rating, Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2023, or QS World University Rankings, as well as the prestigious Certificate for Quality in Internationalisation (CeQuInt) awarded by the European Consortium for Accreditation in Higher Education (ECA). This certificate underlines the institution's internationalisation strategy that has been promoted over the past few years.
This achievement has made CEU USP the first university in Madrid and the second in Spain, alongside CEU Cardenal Herrera, to receive this institutional recognition. This certificate, awarded for a renewable period of five years following a new evaluation, highlights the international and intercultural dimension that the institution promotes and demonstrates the quality of its internationalisation programmes. It acknowledges the institution's unique mission, where students transcend borders, gaining an education and training that prepares them for a multicultural job market.
