CEU San Pablo University and EY have reached a collaboration agreement with the aim of promoting and boosting youth employment. Within the university-business environment that CEU USP is promoting, the Aula EY-CEU has been launched. The programme will be taught in the School of Economics and Business combining both theoretical and hands-on learning providing participating students with the option of joining the labour market with the company, where they will be able to carry out work experience.
The Rector, Rosa Visiedo, explained that "we want to train the people that our society needs, that the business world demands from us, people who are capable of leading change, of committing themselves to improving our world. We have an unavoidable commitment to employment, which is why we want to be close to companies, listen to them and find out what they demand from our students". In this sense, she pointed out that, "these spaces will undoubtedly help to cultivate their talent, as they will have the great opportunity to work with professionals and generate real experiences".
"The project will give students the opportunity to access work placements and training programmes and provide them with the experience, skills and qualifications to position them at the best starting point for their careers and to develop the leadership skills they will need for the rest of their working lives. Our interest is to attract talent and the classroom has become an essential tool for this", says José Luis Risco, associate of the People Advisory Services at EY. He also stressed that "working closely with CEU for more than fifteen years has allowed us to fulfil one of our key purposes: to listen to the educational and student community to understand their needs and requests and innovate at the same pace as the evolution of the job market".
Rocío Rodríguez Caballero, Associate Director Talent at EY, Carmen García de Elías, the University Manager, Ángel Bartolomé, the Vice-Rector for Students and University Life, and Ricardo Palomo the Dean of the School of Economics and Business, also took part in the event along with the Rector and the partner of the People Advisory Services at EY. Prior to this, Gonzalo Sánchez de León and Borja Zunzunegui Beneyto, from EY's People Advisory Services, gave a talk on Agile Methodologies to the students who have been selected to participate in Aula EY.
