The University has achieved Institutional Accreditation from the Council of Universities for the Faculty of Humanities and Communication Sciences, that joins in this distinction the Faculties of Law, Economics and Business Sciences, Medicine and Pharmacy; and the Royal Institute of European Studies.

Its dean, Pablo Velasco, has received the accreditation seal from the general director of Universities of the Community of Madrid, Nicolás J. Casas; and the director of the Madrid Knowledge Foundation, Federico Morán, in an event chaired by the rector, Rosa Visiedo, together with the vice-rector for Education, Cristina Masa.

The meeting was attended by the Head of Quality and Institutional Accreditation of the Foundation, Raúl de Andrés; the Head of the Degree Monitoring Area, Marta Fernández; and the technicians of the University Quality Area Adelina Grava and Teresa Núñez. Also present were all the members of the Rectoral Team and the Dean's Teams, as well as heads of services and student representatives, members of the University Quality Commission, the Statistics and Quality Unit (UEC), and the SISCAL Commission.

During this event, some pilot proposals were presented that apply Artificial Intelligence and that have begun to be implemented in the field of quality. In addition, the director of the UEC, Mar Herrador, made a historical review of "How we have changed!" from the first verifications to today's achievement and everything learned along the way.

What does this recognition entail?

Institutional accreditation aims to take a further step towards strengthening the autonomy of university institutions. In our case, it demonstrates the maturity and autonomy of all the centres of our university, so that they comply with the legal responsibility of ensuring the quality of their academic offering.
