The 2023-2024 academic year has begun, and the University Wellbeing Service (SOU) team has held an opening meeting for the Buddy Program. This peer supporting program aims to help new incoming students (Buddy Juniors) fit into the classroom environment.
During this kick off session, held at both the Moncloa and Monteprincipe campuses, over 300 students from all years participated in team-building activities and games, which allowed them to interact and get to know each other better. First-year students were able to share their opinions and address common questions with Buddy Seniors (older students from other years), who will assist them along their university journey from September to December.
Thanks to this support program organised by the Vice-Rectorate for Students and University Life, new incoming students are provided with orientation and guidance to ease their academic and social integration, to forge bonds with students on the same degree course, to encourage participation in campus activities; to reinforce the culture of Zero Tolerance to possible incidents of bullying among peers, and to foster a sense of fellowship and community.
