The certificate, issued by the Bureau Veritas certification body, is
accredited by ENAC, and covers all the centres of the Fundación Universitaria
San Pablo CEU, as well as Universitat Abat Oliba
CEU. We have accordingly become the first educational and university
institution in Spain to obtain the UNE 19601:2017 certification of its criminal
compliance management system by Bureau Veritas.
As an institution committed to
society, we consider it essential to apply criteria of transparency and good
governance in the daily management of the institution and our centres. Therefore, possession of this
certificate underlines CEU's commitment at the highest level to regulatory
compliance, exemplary behaviour and the involvement of all employees in
preventing the commission of offences within the institution and, at the same
time, reduces our exposure to the risk of legal proceedings.
This
certificate, issued by the Bureau
Veritas certification body, the world's leading independent certification,
inspection and testing organization, is accredited by ENAC, and covers all Fundación Universitaria San
Pablo CEU’s centres as well as the
Universitat Abat Oliba CEU.
In the words of José Félix Pareja de Lerma, Director of Internal Audit at the Fundación Universitaria San Pablo
CEU, "Our institution was
created with the aim of providing information about its teaching, research and
management activities, fulfilling its commitment to be accountable to society
and promoting a culture of transparency and modernisation of university
administration. Obtaining this certificate is further proof of our unwavering
commitment to regulatory compliance. Exemplarity is a fundamental pillar for us:
we care about what we do and how we do it and this was the natural next step to
implement”.
Pedro González, Director of Corporate Governance Certification at Bureau Veritas, commented
that "the audit process, carried out
by Bureau Veritas, has been completed with the issue of the UNE 19601:2017
certification of the CEU Group's compliance management system, confirming the
correct implementation of these standardised models by the institution".
