The association Madrid World Capital of
Construction, Engineering, and Architecture (MWCC) and Global Shapers Spain have published a list of the
most influential young Spanish engineers
and architects under 35. The document is part of the ‘35 under 35’ project,
launched in February, and received more
than 370 applications. The aim is to highlight
talent, innovation, and the potential for the transformation of cities and
business ecosystems as one of the main agents of necessary change for the
growth of society.
Among the 236 engineers and 134
architects who participated, are six of our most outstanding CEU Architecture
alumni: Héctor Fernández Prada, Daniel Fernández Prada, Luca Loertscher Jucker,
Jorge Sotelo de Santiago, Adolfo Gutiérrez Sánchez and Álvaro García Segura. A
jury from the Polytechnic University of
Madrid, University of Navarra, Madrid College of Civil Engineers, COAM, Wires,
FCC, MWCC, and Global Shapers, with the support of the Madrid City Council, analyzed
the entries and produced the list.
About MWCC
Madrid World Capital of Construction,
Engineering, and Architecture (MWCC) is a project promoted by the Madrid City
Council since its inception in 2016 as an association of public and private
entities, universities, architecture studios, and engineering companies. The project
was created to improve the quality of life of citizens, and to enhance the
sectors in which Madrid already had a competitive edge. The project has two
principal objectives: to promote high professional standards and the more widespread
use of technology.
About Global Shapers
Having
its origins in the World Economic Forum,
the Global Shapers Community is an exclusive network of young future leaders
between the ages of 16 and 30 whose
objectives are to seek out, understand and meet local, regional and global challenges.
The Forum decided to create this community in 2011 as a non-profit organization
to give future young leaders the
opportunity to build a better world together. The members of Global Shapers are prominent in
the student, economic, social, and
political fields, and are constantly seeking out cross-cutting issues that reflect
our current pluralistic societies.
