The founding president and trustee of San Ignacio de Loyola University (USIL), Raúl Diez Canseco Terry, and the rector and general manager of CEU San Pablo University (CEU USP), Rosa Visiedo and Carmen García de Elías, respectively, have signed framework and specific agreements for the implementation of several international collaboration programmes between the two institutions.
These programmes will allow students from the Peruvian institution USIL to obtain three undergraduate degrees from CEU USP: Physiotherapy, Marketing and Human Nutrition, and Dietetics. In this way, thanks to the similarity of the curricula between the two institutions, it has been possible to design an educational pathway through which USIL students can receive their degree from CEU USP, by means of previous academic recognition and a subsequent file transfer to study at the Madrid university for a period of 4 to 5 semesters, depending on the degree.
USIL students who wish to obtain the corresponding CEU USP degree must have previously passed, in Peru, the credits required by the CEU San Pablo University. Subsequently, they will follow a study programme at CEU USP, as specified in the agreements signed, in order to receive a degree from the institution.
This agreement represents a step forward in the internationalisation of classes at CEU USP, promoting more global and intercultural learning through the inclusion of students of different nationalities. For their part, USIL students will receive a degree from CEU USP, recognised in the European Education Area, opening doors to the labour market.
Key to the negotiation, design and management of these agreements has been the involvement of the team from the Vice Rectorate for Internationalisation, the directors of the degree programmes involved and their Dean's Offices, as well as the USIL and SIU teams, coordinated by the Vice President of USIL Europe. These agreements will create new channels that will contribute to the internationalisation of CEU San Pablo and its students.
Raúl Diez Canseco emphasised that "this strategic alliance with a prestigious institution such as CEU San Pablo allows USIL to consolidate the internationalisation process that we've been pursuing for decades, so that our students can study in first-class institutions on every continent". For her part, Rosa Visiedo, said that "this agreement with San Ignacio de Loyola de Lima University is a continuation of our commitment to internationalisation, one of the fundamental pillars of our institution. An alliance that will continue to promote an increasingly attractive campus, both for international students and for national students who want to share a unique experience with students from different countries and continents".
