CEU Universities, for the first time since its creation, has been included in the international ranking prepared by the British firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), which specialises in the analysis of higher education institutions around the world. And they have done so by placing it among the top 25 universities in Spain.

In the current 2023 edition, only 31 Spanish universities, public and private, of the more than 80 that exist in Spain, have managed to appear in this ranking. Also noteworthy is the entry of two new universities - one of them CEU Universities - with respect to the 2022 ranking.

The QS World University Ranking has evaluated a total of 2,462 universities worldwide, of which only 1,422 have demonstrated a sufficient level to appear in this classification. The methodology is based on the analysis of six factors of different weights that determine the overall quality of each of the universities analysed: academic level, reputation among employers, student-teacher ratio, number of citations received for the publications of their researchers, and ratio of teaching staff to international students.

This QS ranking confirms the commitment of CEU Universities to internationalisation in its classrooms, which allows it to attract 30% of international students to study in its universities. This above-average proportion of international students has given it 4th place in the QS World University Ranking among Spanish universities and 301st place in the world, and places CEU Universities in the top 25% of all the educational institutions analysed in this ranking.

Employability and relationship with companies

With regard to the employability of its students, CEU Universities stands out for its close relationship with companies and institutions through more than 9,000 agreements for curricular and extracurricular internships for its students. At the same time, a system of training and certification of critical transversal competences has been developed for the preparation of its students for the labour market. As a result of this strategy, more than 90% of CEU University graduates find a job within a few months of completing their studies.

To further enhance the progress already made in this area, CEU has created the Employability Advisory Council, among other initiatives, to work with the business environment to identify the needs of the labour market and to help fulfill these by constantly reviewing the training content of the different disciplines it teaches.
