Universidad CEU San Pablo kicked off the new academic year with a festive Welcome Day, aimed at the 2,400 national and international students (an increase of 7.8% on last year) who are entering the classrooms. The event took place on the Montepríncipe campus and allowed the new students to get to know the University and its services, as well as their classmates and teachers in specific sessions for each study programme.

More than ten information stands were set up in the outdoor areas of the campus, with information on the different services and activities offered by the University: Campus Life, Clubs, University Orientation Service (SOU), Grow Path for Students (GPS), Volunteering, Pastoral Care, Sports, Alumni, Professional Careers, Family Institute, Student representatives, Vice Rector's Office for Students, Personal Development Analysis (PDA), Library, International Information and CEU Global. Students could also enjoy foodtrucks, popcorn stands, table football, pinball and a wheel of fortune offering prizes.

The Rector of the University, Rosa Visiedo, welcomed the students to "a University with an international vocation, a close relationship with the business world and a vocation to serve society in order to build a better world for everyone; a University that will ask you for effort, but that will accompany you on your journey". She went on to reflect that the university stage is "a period of intellectual and personal maturation that will help you prepare for what is to come". She invited the new students "to live and enjoy the University, to take advantage of all that it has to offer: the cultural, pastoral, sporting, professional, volunteering and leisure activities that will complement your academic curriculum".

This Welcome Day is part of  'Welcome Week' which runs from the 3rd to the 7th September, a time when students are offered all the necessary information about academic resources, extracurricular programmes and personal development opportunities, as well as guided tours and leisure activities in Madrid. During this week, they also have the opportunity to meet their classmates, mentors (Buddy Senior) and professors, and take part in an array of activities that will immerse them in an environment of learning and discovery.
