More than 200 incoming students have finished their academic stay in our classrooms, and the University has celebrated on-campus its traditional ‘Farewell Day’, a closing event for the international students who have completed a semester or a whole academic year, coming from universities all over Europe, the United States, South Korea, Taiwan, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Uruguay and Colombia. During the event, diplomas and scholarships were awarded.
The Vice Rector for Internationalisation, Ainhoa Uribe, and the international academic coordinator for the Law School, Luis Rodrigo de Castro, addressed the students attending the ceremony. In her speech, Uribe highlighted that “international mobility aims to be an open, tolerant and global programme, which helps students to adapt to a new environment and allows them to adopt different cultural visions”. The Vice Rector also pointed out that “learning is about transforming, opening up and growing as a person. Our mission is to train professionals and share our vision, social commitment and vocation”.
Students Dion Dijkshoorn, from Inholland University of Applied Sciences (the Netherlands); Paul Agarwall, from Hochschule der Medien Stuttgart (Germany); Antonia Moreira, from Universidad del Desarrollo (Chile); and Kseniia Vlaskova, a Ukrainian student, also spoke on behalf of their fellow students.
