The University and the
international law firm Squire Patton Boggs have signed a strategic agreement
for the training of students at the School of Law. As part of this partnership,
the Aula CEU-Squire Patton Boggs has
been inaugurated and a first session held where students have been able to
experience first-hand the management and organisation of a law firm of these
characteristics.
On behalf of Squire
Patton Boggs, the meeting was attended by Javier
Izquierdo, Partner Responsible for Litigation and Arbitration, Marta Robles, Senior Associate of the
Litigation and Arbitration Department, Mayte Requejo of Counsel for Criminal
Law, Juan Fernández-Castaño,
Business Development and Marketing Manager, and Sonia de Zunzunegui, Managing Director. Also attending, from the
University were the Rector, Rosa Visiedo;
the Manager, Carmen García de Elías;
the Dean of the Faculty, Alfonso
Martínez-Echevarría; and the Coordinator of the Aula, Pedro Sánchez Rivera.
Rosa Visiedo emphasised the importance of the
inauguration of the Aula CEU-Squire Patton Boggs, which contributes to
generating a Business-University ecosystem, of which the Classroom strategy
forms a part, and stressed that "with
these initiatives, we provide a deeper knowledge of the sector, bringing
students closer to the professional world where the university acts as an
enabler, connecting students and companies so they can get to know each other."
She also encouraged students to take advantage of and participate in this
series of opportunities, such as the Aulas CEU-Business, to improve their
employability.
