An LLM is a Master of Laws degree for law graduates or foreign professionals who wish to train in U.S. law. In addition, obtaining an LLM at Fordham School of Law qualifies the student to take the New York Bar Exam, the official examination for the practice of law in the State of New York, home to many important law firms with an international vocation.

In order to practice law in the United States, it is necessary to pass an examination of the American Bar Association (New York Bar Exam). In this case, obtaining the LLM at Fordham School of Law is one of the qualifying requirements to be able to sit for such exam. In addition, the Spanish student will have to have passed both the Master's degree in Access to the Legal Profession and Procurement in Spain and the official State examination.

Spanish law firms and companies are becoming increasingly international and appreciate their professionals' broadened knowledge of different legal systems. In a global world, entities work in very diverse legal contexts, so an LLM is very useful to open a path in the labor market. Likewise, Anglo-American law is applied in countries such as the United Kingdom and Ireland, with which Spanish companies and law firms have a close relationship. Likewise, more and more Anglo-American companies, corporations and law firms are opening offices in Europe and Spain. Law is becoming increasingly global, so the CEU-Fordham Program expands the professional opportunities for students.

Universal health coverage does not exist in the United States and citizens are obliged to take out private health insurance if they want to receive health care. Fortunately, most American universities routinely offer international students health insurance that meets the mandatory coverage requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The student will be automatically enrolled in the university's health plan at the time of enrollment.
