The Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy with the most hours of clinical practice in Spain

Do you want to be a physical therapist? The Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy at Universidad CEU San Pablo trains you with a comprehensive curriculum that incorporates the latest advances in the profession, such as cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, intensive care or therapeutic exercise.  

We gather theory and practice in a unique program so that you get a comprehensive learning and be able to prevent, diagnose and treat the different ailments with the most advanced treatments. You will learn with more hours of clinical practice than any other university in Spain. From the first year you will carry out simulation exercises in our facilities and, from the second year on, in clinics and hospitals. In total, more than 2,300 hours to learn the latest advances in physiotherapy and specialize.  

In addition, we bring you closer to the profession with a free complement of more than 200 hours of specialized training such as manual therapy, sports physiotherapy, therapeutic exercise in musculoskeletal pathology, cardiopulmonary resuscitation or pilates.  

We have advanced facilities that include 22 physiotherapy offices, both basic and specific, and our own University Polyclinic where you will work on real cases under the supervision of the faculty.

Why study the Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy at Universidad CEU San Pablo?

Our curriculum is designed so that you gradually acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to enable you to successfully care for patients. We have been teaching the Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy for more than 20 years. In our commitment to internationalization, we were pioneers in Spain in offering the degree entirely in English.

Our curriculum is designed so that you gradually acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to enable you to successfully care for patients. We have been teaching the Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy for more than 20 years. In our commitment to internationalization, we were pioneers in Spain in offering the degree entirely in English.

In order for you to make early contact with the profession, you will have more than 2,300 hours of internships (60% of the total hours of the degree are internships) distributed among laboratory, cabinets, clinical simulation and external clinics in reference centers. 

Internships start in the first year, with the exception of external clinical internships, which start in the second year. The internship groups are small, from 10 to 12 students in the simulated internships and two students per physiotherapist in the clinical rotations. We guarantee you a taylor-made learning system that focuses on the acquisition of skills.

We complement the undergraduate training with a unique and differential preparation of a postgraduate degree in the most demanded therapeutic areas in the work environment, in the form of optional specialization courses, at no additional cost to the student:

  • Manual Therapy (200 hours). 
  • Sports Physiotherapy (200 hours). 

Also, to bring you closer to the profession, we offer free optional theoretical and practical training from the second year onwards, where you can learn specialties such as Therapeutic exercise in musculoskeletal pathology (15 h), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (5 h) or Pilates (44 h).  

This way, once you finish your degree, you will be able to have several additional training complements to enrich your curriculum and have easier access to the labor market.

You will be able to carry out professional internships in centers and clinics such as Club Atlético de Madrid, Club Estudiantes, Centro Estatal de Atención del Daño Cerebral, Asociación Española de Esclerosis Múltiple, Fundación Pita López, Centro de Atención Temprana Little by Little or the different public and private hospitals with which we have agreements.  

It studies with a teaching staff made up of qualified physiotherapists who combine teaching with their professional activity in hospitals, sports clubs, physiotherapy centers and clinics, as well as research.

We promote the internationalization of our students with a mobility abroad (Erasmus or bilateral mobility), with external clinical internships in other countries (4th year) or in class through COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) programs with students from other universities. 

We have more than 80 agreements with international universities for your mobility. Among them, Arcadia University (USA), Oslo Metropolitan University (Norway) and Charles University (Czech Republic) stand out. And we offer the possibility of extending to new destinations if you are interested. 

Make the most of your studies and use the 22 physiotherapy laboratories and clinical simulation room of the School of Medicine equipped with the most advanced technologies and furniture prepared for learning. In addition, we have our own University Polyclinic in the center of Madrid with 9 boxes and 3 multipurpose physiotherapy treatment rooms.

Our graduates obtain a quick and quality job placement. They are distinguished both for their excellent training and their values. Among the companies in which they work are the most important sports clubs such as Atlético de Madrid 1st division to the Basketball Students Club, the World Tennis Association (WTA) and Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), the Spanish Wheelchair Basketball Team or the World Padel Tour, as well as musicals such as El Rey León (The Lion King).

At Universidad CEU San Pablo you will be able to acquire all the necessary training to perform the numerous functions of a physiotherapist. Throughout the four years you will master, among others, the following Competences:

Acquire the necessary knowledge to assess the functional status of the patient, considering physical, psychological, and social aspects. Develop the ability to offer a diagnostic assessment of physiotherapy care according to the standards and with internationally recognized validation instruments and design an intervention plan, according to criteria of adequacy, validity, and efficiency. 

To perceive the interdisciplinary vision of the physiotherapist's performance, and to become aware of the importance of physiotherapy as a tool for prevention and treatment of acute or chronic disease. 

To know the social-health environment and the main public and private institutions, both national and international, in their genesis in which the physiotherapist will develop his future professional activity. To develop the knowledge and practice of different research techniques, with which to effectively access new professional knowledge of this science.  

To understand the methods, procedures and physiotherapeutic actions aimed at both the therapies to be applied in the clinic for reeducation or functional recovery and the performance of activities aimed at the promotion and maintenance of health.

Internships are the central axis of this Degree and are approached from different areas: laboratory, simulation in cabinets and clinic and external clinical internships in reference centers. 

The latter are performed after the second year, when you have acquired the basic knowledge to properly treat patients. In addition, you can do them outside Spain, in prestigious hospitals and clinics. We have more than 150 agreements with entities, hospitals and clinics in Spain and many others internationally.  

To ensure the quality of this practical learning, you will have a clinical tutor and an academic tutor.

Este título incluye asignaturas clave que te permitirán conocer en profundidad el mercado laboral y el funcionamiento de una empresa. Aprenderás qué es una empresa, cómo se estructura, cómo realizar un currículum o cómo afrontar una entrevista de trabajo, etc.

As a result of Universidad CEU San Pablo's commitment to Quality, the Facultad de Medicina has a living Internal Quality Assurance System (SGIC), aligned with the SISCAL Guidelines at the Centre level, which ensures the review and continuous improvement of all official Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
 
2009

First formalised IQAS at the level of Universidad San Pablo-CEU  that guarantees the quality and continuous improvement of its Bachelor's and Master's degrees.

2012

The IQAS is approved at the Centre level where the IQC of each Centre approves proposals for improvement and their follow-up.

2022
